Sublimation

Sublimation is a chemical process in which a substance changes directly from solid phase to gaseous phase. The liquid phase of the substance is thereby skipped. For printing on materials or products, sublimation is used to "bake" a print into the surface of the material itself. Heat-sensitive ink is used for this, which mixes with the (specially coated) material surface.
